Overall, I think the Eisenhorn novels are a good read, even for those who are not into Warhammer 40K. Let's back up a bit, because that was probably confusing. I finished reading the entire Eisenhorn omnibus, which consists of Malleus and Hereticus as well as Xenos , which I already discussed. I didn't like the later two books as much as I did the first one. I think the extreme time-jumps played a part in that. If any of you ever have the chance, check it out. Set within the timeline of Dan Abnett's mostly excellent Eisenhorn omnibus, which is one of the classics of Black Library fiction and a very good introductory set of novels to get your feet with the Warhammer 40,000 setting. Prospect: a sci-fi epic comprising seven hundred and fifty pages of densely packed text in three novels and two linking short stories, set in the deep and almost impenetrable mythos of Games Workshop's Warhammer 40k. Conveniently, I already have the Eisenhorn omnibus — must move it closer to the top of the stack. In the story, Eisenhorn makes "the sign of the eagle" in the same manner as a Catholic makes the sign of the cross. I've mentioned a few times now that the modern game that has most captured my interest is Fantasy Flight's Rogue Trader, set in the darkly fascinating Warhammer 40,000 universe. I'm reading this and it's amazing. It's set in the Warhammer 40k universe, and is centered around the title character, who is an Imperial Inquisitor.
